How to Mint NFTs on Rarible

NFTs are increasingly becoming a part of the digital and visual culture landscape. Many artists using Playform take their finished creations from Playform AI and add them on NFT marketplaces. Learn how to create a MetaMask wallet and mint on Rarible, one of the largest NFT marketplaces available.

Install MetaMask to your browser

To create a digital wallet with MetaMask, you need to install the extension. You can install it for Chrome, Firefox, Brave or Opera browsers.

1. Open MetaMask

2. Click ‘Chrome’ to install as a Google Chrome extension

3. Click ‘Add to Chrome’

4. Click ‘Add extension’

Create a MetaMask Account

The next step is to create an account.

1. Click on the MetaMask icon in the upper right corner to open the extension.

2. To install the latest version of MetaMask, click ‘Try it now.’

3. Click ‘Continue’

4. You will be asked to create a new password. Create a strong password and click Create.

5. Click ‘Next,’ then accept Terms of Use.

6. Click ‘Reveal secret words.’

7. You will see a 12 word phrase. Save the phrase as a file or copy them and keep them safe somewhere. Then click ‘Next.’

   Security tip: Write this phrase on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe location.

8. Verify your secret phrase. Click ‘confirm’ when done.

   Congratulations! You have now created your MetaMask account. Now let’s get started on minting on Rarible.

Mint on Rarible

1. In order to mint on Rarible, you have to connect your MetaMask wallet that you just created. Sign into your digital wallet with your email address.

2. Then click ‘create a collectible’ on the upper right corner.

3. Next, you need to decide if you want to create a ‘single’ or ‘multiple’ collectible. ‘Single’ is the option for a one-of-a-kind collectible, while ‘multiple’ is for an editioned collectible.

4. Choose the collection. This is the contract in which your NFT will be minted. You can either choose the default Rarible contract, or you can create your own. Note that creating your own costs a lot in gas fees. 

5. You’re almost done! Now you need to upload your art. It can be uploaded as a JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, MP4, or MP3 file. You will also need to title your NFT. If you’d like, you can add a description to accompany the piece, as well as any additional properties like pixel size, resolution, etc. Then you can choose whether you want to put it on sale. If you don’t want to sell it, you can select the toggle off, that way you will only be minting the NFT. When finished, select ‘create item’ and confirm your wallet.
