AI Visions
A Playform Studio | CreatoRanch Exhibition by Chris Trueman
Chris Trueman will share his experience incorporating Playform AI into his art practice, walking Playform users through his process of creating his latest exhibition with Playform: "AI Visions."
Created using Playform AI, Chris Trueman's exhibition "AI Visions" explores the experience of art-viewing in a digital world. As an abstract artist, Trueman investigates the projected biases that art-viewers place on abstract works. Viewers may see objects, faces, or tell themselves stories about what the meaning behind the works are. What does it mean then, when an AI companion begins to do the same? Creating faces and figurative elements that were never inputted?
"What's intriguing to me about to me about this body of work is that you can see there are these moments of figuration that appear out of the images. There's no representational or figurative imagery in the sets of images that I inputted through the programming," says Trueman. "The idea that these faces and figures emerge uncovers a latent bias within the algorithm, and there becomes an interesting collaborative process with the AI."
Using Playform AI, Trueman selected a series of abstract paintings into the AI platform, and then transformed those final selected works through Playform's Sketch tool. With their own visual quality and personality, the works are available as 7 select NFTs on CreatoRanch, a new NFT marketplace built specifically for creators, curators, and collectors.
